Product Description:

This is the 4th puzzle in the series exclusively designed featuring scenes from the ever popular The Twelve Days of Christmas festive song. This wooden puzzle is a beautifully illustrated image of four beautiful calling birds by popular artist Rachel Arbuckle. This puzzle brings to life the song line; on the fourth day of Christmas my true love sent to me Four Calling Birds. Following on from our Partridge in a Pear tree, Two Turtle Doves and Three French Hens puzzles. The “four calling birds” that we sing about today were, at different times, “four canary birds” and “four mockingbirds,” and before that they show up as “colly birds” or “collie birds,” which is the archaic term for blackbirds. You’ll need a good eye for detail as this puzzle is both challenging and engaging, giving the puzzler a great deal of satisfaction after completion. The whimsy shaped pieces feature musical notes, birds and Christmas trees to tie in with the puzzle. This jigsaw would make a wonderful focus at a festive family gathering. Please note, the white Christmas Tree shape in the centre is empty and does not include any puzzle pieces. By Rachel Arbuckle.
